Job Details

Requirements:

• Must be 18-20 years old
• Must be enrolled in a college or university outside of the United States
• Must pass High Sierra lifeguard training in home country or upon arrival in the U.S.; training is provided at a cost of US$250 (US$100 due at class, $150 payroll deducted)
• Able to swim 300 meters, including 100 meters in front crawl stroke
• Uniform must be worn while working; uniforms must be purchase from High Sierra for a cost of US$75 (payroll deducted)

Salary:

US$7.80 per hour for regular hours and US$11.70 per hour for overtime

Schedule:

Average is 52 to 58 hours per week (40 hours regular + 12 - 18 hours of overtime); usually 6 days per week with 1 day off; shifts are 6-12 hours per day

Accommodations:

Apartment style housing will be assigned upon arrival in the vicinity of work location. Cost of housing will be US$350 per month plus a US$200 refundable deposit. Housing is mixed gender (unless otherwise requested) and will be for 2 to 3 people per bedroom. Transportation to work varies and may be by foot, bicycle, public transportation, or car (provided by employer).
